When you read:

• Understand what the text is clearly saying (not just guessing).

• Also understand hidden meanings — things the writer doesn't say directly but wants you to feel.

• Explain why the writer chose certain words, and what effect it has on us.

When you write:

• Organise your ideas so they flow nicely, like a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end.

• Use different types of words and sentences — don't repeat the same ones again and again.

• Check your spelling, punctuation, and grammar carefully before you finish.

If you keep these points in mind every time you read or write, you'll naturally start scoring higher — because you're giving the examiner exactly what they want to see!
